A little bit about me
Hey there! I'm Ricki...
a child of the 80's, a life partner to a great guy, a mom of two amazing young men, a dog mom of two crazy Airedales, an avid reader and scary movie fan, plus a professional bellydancer AND hopefully, your future personal trainer here in McKinney, TX.
I'm not an Instagram influencer or "Trainer to the Stars" but health, fitness, and movement have been a huge part of my life! There have been some curve balls - injuries, moves, surgery, babies, work, illness - over the years. But you know what? I've learned you have to keep moving forward, despite them.
Get it? Moving is the key(word)! It's also the inspiration behind my biz name...I like to move + be fit = MOVE FIT! Oh, and our fave movie song Madagascar was part of it, too! (Made you dance, didn't I?)
Why did I become a trainer at the age of 50? There is a need for my seasoned skills! For several years, I've taught adults in dance classes where I often observe improper mechanics, muscle weaknesses, and other related issues that keep students from enjoying their bodies to the fullest. In 2020, I decided to use Covid downtime in a productive way and grow professionally. Now I can provide more value to my students as well as to connect with a new community of health & fitness clients who want to discover, or rediscover, their potential.
As a NASM certified Personal Trainer and a NASM Behavior Change Specialist, I'm thrilled to see clients get excited about their futures. Soon, I'll become a Corrective Exercise Specialist because that is my personal passion - empowering people who have encountered troubles with maintaining an active lifestyle. Group gym classes and YouTube videos can't offer creative, personalized attention to assess and program safe customized fitness for you.
Health, fitness and nutrition is NOT a "one-size-fits-all" situation, especially as we age, develop chronic conditions, or suffer major injury setbacks. That's where I come in! Using stability, better mechanics, and creative modifications we build you a more balanced, healthier body. To me, challenges are just opportunities to try something different!
