HAVE YOU BEEN DEALING WITH: Low Back Pain Achy Hips Neck & Shoulder trouble Poor Posture Lack of Flexibility Foot Pain Knee Discomfort Repetitive Stress Injuries Flat Butt syndrome (sort of kidding) Elevated or High Blood Pressure Type II Diabetes Stress Headaches Mood Swings or Depression |
Worse, it's also made us "weekend warriors" which puts us at high risk for injuries - some minor, some chronic, some debilitating.
Why? We sit all week, sort of "decomposing" in a sense, and then when the weekend arrives we push our bodies to do complex movements, including yard work, house projects, or doing unfamiliar things like roller skating or joining the kids on the backyard trampoline, or vacation fun. Even Fido can be our undoing...an orthopedic doctor once told me that the family dog is the leading cause of knee injuries in his non-athletic clients. So everything is fine until one of those moments & BAM! You are injured! Now, instead of living your best life, you are resting, icing, heating, going to doctors (if insured), getting x-rays and MRIs (if insured), seeing a physical therapist (if insured), sleeping poorly, and becoming dependent on NSAIDs or opioids to manage pain. |
Prevent this far too common scenario by taking a smarter approach to exercise - safe, progressive movements that focus on creating balance in the body (that infamous core!), building strong joints to support stronger muscles, and maintaining it all with a consistent but varied program that you enjoy.
You can do this on your own but if you're new to exercise or prefer a more hands-on approach, working with a qualified personal trainer, like myself, is a smart choice. Seniors or anyone with chronic health conditions, injuries, or other more personalized needs will definitely thrive with a trainer by their side. |
